The municipality of Tres Cantos hosted the awards ceremony for the V Short Film Festival, an event that is part of the ‘Tres Cantos de Cine’ cultural program running throughout April. The ceremony took place at the Municipal Theater of the Adolfo Suárez Cultural Center, attracting a large audience.
This year's edition saw the participation of over 430 short films, from which the award-winning works in various categories were selected. The total prize money exceeded 11,000 euros, highlighting the support for audiovisual creation.
The event positions Tres Cantos as a municipality linked to the development of the audiovisual sector, in a context where it hosts an important European hub.
Among the main accolades, the short film Una vocal was one of the night's big winners, receiving awards for Best Cinematography, Best Male Director, the Movistar Plus Award for Best Short Film, and the Community of Madrid Award. The main award for Best Short Film went to Mimo.
Other notable awards included Best Local Production Short Film for La resolución de Urd, Best Animated Short Film for Anaglifo, and Best Soundtrack for the work Montecarlo 67. The Netflix Award for Social Inclusion and Diversity was given to Sexo a los 70, a production whose lead actress and director were also recognized in their respective categories. The Audience Award went to Faustino.
