The Adolfo Marsillach Municipal Auditorium Theater in San Sebastián de los Reyes will host a spring concert on May 24, where nearly a hundred singers will perform a repertoire ranging from Vivaldi to Orff, including opera and zarzuela.

The Coral de San Sebastián de los Reyes has organized a musical event that promises to be a unique experience for attendees. Titled Grandes Hitos Clásicos (Great Classical Milestones), the concert will feature a chamber orchestra, soloists, and the Hortaleza School Choir, offering a journey through the most emblematic pieces of Western music.

"The concert is defined as «participatory», which gives an idea of the spirit that drives it: it is not a distant or rigid performance, but an event designed to connect with the audience from the very first bar."

The program includes highly significant works in sacred music, such as Vivaldi's Gloria, Mozart's Requiem, and Fauré's Requiem. Handel's Messiah, with its well-known Hallelujah, one of the most famous baroque choral cantatas, will also be performed.
Opera will be featured with famous choruses by Giuseppe Verdi, such as the Gypsy Chorus from Il Trovatore and the Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from Nabucco. Additionally, the delicate Barcarolle from Jacques Offenbach's The Tales of Hoffmann will be performed.
Spanish tradition will have its place with zarzuela, including the famous Habanera from Manuel Penella's Don Gil, the Ensalada Madrileña from Pablo Sorozábal's Don Manolito, and the Coro de Barquilleros from Federico Chueca's Agua, Azucarillos y Aguardiente.
The concert will conclude with a selection from Carl Orff's cantata Carmina Burana, including the powerful O Fortuna, promising a spectacular finale to the evening. Tickets cost 8 euros and can be purchased at the box office of the Adolfo Marsillach Municipal Auditorium Theater or through its website.
