The city of San Sebastián de los Reyes will once again show its solidarity on June 12, when the XII Popular Race for Cerebral Palsy – Francisco Valdivia Memorial will be held. This gathering, organized by ASPACE Madrid, goes beyond sports to become a neighborhood meeting point, seeking to raise awareness about cerebral palsy and foster social inclusion.
With eleven previous editions, the race has become a benchmark in the northern area of Madrid. Its continuous growth is a testament to citizen commitment, demonstrating how sport can be an effective tool to break down barriers and cultivate empathy.
The day is designed for everyone's participation, from experienced runners to families and people with reduced mobility. Activities will begin at 6:00 PM with preliminary dynamics. At 7:30 PM, children's races will start, followed at 8:15 PM by a one-kilometer solidarity walk. For those seeking a greater challenge, five and ten-kilometer routes with differentiated categories have been established.
The event will feature a full entertainment program. A well-known journalist will host the event, while a DJ will liven up the afternoon with music. Singer Carmen Lillo, a participant in a television program, will offer an adapted performance. Additionally, a foundation will hold special exhibitions to highlight the abilities of people with cerebral palsy.
To conclude, a raffle with attractive prizes will be held, including stays, wellness experiences, and gastronomic products, thanks to the collaboration of various companies. Registrations are now open through the official website, and participants will receive a runner's bag. Those who wish to contribute without running can do so through the «dorsal 0» option, making a direct donation to ASPACE Madrid's projects.
