Loading and unloading operations in San Sebastián de los Reyes are undergoing a significant expansion, increasing from a three-hour window to six. This recently approved measure affects the entire municipal area and updates a regulation that had been in place since 2011.
Previously, delivery vehicles were only permitted to operate between 08:00 and 11:00. Under the new regulation, this period is extended to 14:00, doubling the time available for unloading merchandise at shops, restaurants, and businesses within the municipality.
The extension will be applied generally throughout the municipal area, including the urban center, industrial parks, and areas with regulated parking. Any business or transport professional operating in San Sebastián de los Reyes will notice this change.
The previous schedule, established in 2011, was considered insufficient given the population growth, commercial expansion, and increasing mobility complexity. Municipal technical reports, along with assessments from the Local Police and Mobility services, support the extension, positively evaluating traffic conditions.
For transporters, the extended hours mean reduced pressure and the ability to better organize their routes, avoiding congestion and minimizing incidents. Businesses, in turn, gain flexibility in receiving goods.
The new regulation also allows for specific adjustments or restrictions in particular streets or zones, provided they are supported by technical reports justifying the measure. Furthermore, exceptional authorizations for specific loading and unloading cases will continue to be processed.
