The 21 de Marzo Center, located in the Factoría Cultural of Tres Cantos, will be the venue this Thursday, June 11, for the presentation of the work ‘La memoria y la vida’. The event, organized by the Carmen de Michelena Popular University, will feature the author, José María Ruiz-Vargas, emeritus professor of Memory Psychology at the Autonomous University of Madrid. He will be joined by Amalio Blanco Abarca, emeritus professor of Social Psychology at the same university, who will moderate the discussion.
The presentation will take place between 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM. Attendance is free and open to the public until the venue is full.
‘La memoria y la vida’, published by Editorial Debate and already in its fifth edition, explores the complexities of human memory functioning. The book, authored by Ruiz-Vargas, analyzes how memories influence daily experience and the construction of personal identity, addressing issues of their formation, preservation, and evocation from a popular and scientific perspective.
The dialogue between Blanco Abarca and Ruiz-Vargas will allow attendees to delve into the central themes of the volume and the connection between memory and personal experience, offering a unique insight into one of the most studied cognitive processes.
This activity is part of the cultural programming of the Carmen de Michelena Popular University in Tres Cantos, aiming to provide an accessible space for reflection for all those interested in memory and its impact on life.
