The Tres Cantos City Council has convened an urgent Board of Directors meeting to dismiss the manager of the Municipal Services Company, after the PSOE reported offensive social media posts.
The decision follows a complaint from the PSOE of Tres Cantos, which this morning demanded the immediate dismissal of the manager. According to the socialist party, the executive allegedly used his personal account on the social network X to publish messages containing insults and disparagements aimed at citizens, politicians, journalists, judges, and prosecutors.
Among the reported comments are derogatory terms for progressive voters, offensive references to the President of the Government, and expressions directed at a resident during the fire that affected Tres Cantos on August 11, 2025. The posts also allegedly included disparaging remarks about abortion rights and subsidies against gender violence, as well as messages praising the Franco dictatorship.
The Mayor of Tres Cantos, who also chairs the Municipal Services Company, summoned the manager to request an explanation. Following the meeting, he announced an immediate Board of Directors meeting with the sole agenda item being his dismissal, a position he has held for nearly two decades.
According to the official statement from the City Council, the mayor considered the tone and content of the messages to be “unacceptable and to cross the boundaries of decorum and respect required of any public trust position.” The local government explicitly acknowledged having learned of the events today, following media inquiries after the PSOE's statement.
The manager, for his part, apologized to the mayor, the corporation, and the residents, stating that his comments were always made from a personal account and that he never believed his private opinions could harm the image of the municipal company, the City Council, or the party. Nevertheless, he has accepted the decision of his dismissal.
The dismissal is not limited to his position at the Municipal Services Company. The mayor, in his capacity as president of the PP of Tres Cantos, also announced the executive's departure from his responsibilities in the Local Executive Committee of the party. Furthermore, the facts will be forwarded to the party's internal bodies for analysis and the adoption of appropriate disciplinary measures.
