This initiative aims to enhance the financial and digital security of seniors, expanding their knowledge of online banking and preventing internet fraud. Educational sessions, led by professionals, will facilitate safer use of digital tools and banking services.
The content will cover common digital risks, such as secure password creation and management, online banking usage, and identifying frauds like phishing, smishing, and vishing. Information will also be provided on secure online shopping, ATM usage, how to file complaints, and responsible mobile phone use.
The primary objective is to equip seniors with practical knowledge to navigate digital and financial environments with greater confidence.
Under the agreement, the City Council will be responsible for promoting the activities and managing registrations, while CaixaBank will provide venues, organize the schedule, supply trainers, and necessary materials. The financial institution assures that the training will be exclusively educational, with no commercial purpose.
All training activities will be completely free for both attendees and the council, thereby promoting digital inclusion and financial security for this demographic. Dates and registration procedures will be announced soon.
