The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, presented the project during her visit to Danone's facilities in the municipality, where she was received by the mayor of Tres Cantos, Jesús Moreno. This initiative is part of the regional strategy to foster business growth and an economic model based on public-private collaboration.
Danone's new operations center in Tres Cantos will integrate scientific and technological capabilities with industrial processes. It is expected that this hub will allow the relocation to Spain of productions currently carried out in other countries, thus strengthening national industry.
The Community of Madrid anticipates that the expansion of this complex will contribute approximately 0.4% to regional economic growth starting in 2030. This project reinforces the strategy of consolidating the region as an attractive environment for investment and business innovation, especially in the food and technology sectors.
The Tres Cantos plant is a fundamental pillar of the dairy sector in the region, processing one out of every four liters of milk produced in the Community of Madrid. Currently, the region has 61 companies linked to the sector and 43 dairy cattle farms, a number that has grown by 13.2% since 2021.
The regional government supports the agri-food sector through aid lines for technological modernization, commercialization, and the development of new products. Díaz Ayuso highlighted the importance of an administrative environment that facilitates economic activity to generate employment and opportunities in the region.
