The Madrid town of Tres Cantos is preparing to solidify its position in the food sector. The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, visited Danone's facilities to announce this ambitious project, which aims to integrate research, innovation, and industrial excellence.
This economic injection of 40 million euros will modernize the factory, transforming it into a "unique operations center in the world." This technological commitment will allow the plant to take on productions previously carried out abroad, thus relocating industrial activity to Madrid soil.
“"Madrid's model works: trusting in business initiative, balanced taxation, and an Administration that does not micromanage but rather supports incentive and effort."
Forecasts from the regional government indicate that the expansion of this industrial complex will have a direct impact on the area's wealth, contributing 0.4% to the economic growth of the Community of Madrid from 2030 onwards. President Díaz Ayuso highlighted that this investment reflects the healthy business environment in the region.
A key aspect of Danone's factory in Tres Cantos is its close relationship with the local primary sector. Despite its high technology, the plant relies on products arriving daily from farms in the Madrid mountains. Currently, one in four liters of milk produced in the region is processed at this factory, with a supply network that includes 61 companies and 43 dairy cattle farms in the Community of Madrid.
The new center will not only manufacture existing products but will also be a space for designing the foods of the future, combining scientific research with mass production to keep Madrid at the forefront of the food industry.
