The Community of Madrid has formalized contracts for the construction of 3,352 rental homes aimed at young people under 35 in eight municipalities, with the goal of facilitating their independence and connection to their neighborhoods.

This initiative, part of the new phase of the Plan Vive Solución Joven, is expected to begin construction during 2026. The measure seeks to ease pressure on the housing market and enable young people in Madrid to become independent without being forced to leave their family and social environments.
The Minister of Housing, Jorge Rodrigo, highlighted the importance of this step after signing the awards with the construction companies. These developments add to the more than 5,200 homes already delivered in various locations across the region, reinforcing the regional Executive's commitment to housing access.

"These are the first homes of this initiative promoted by the regional Executive to facilitate the emancipation of young people from Madrid, and it is exclusively for those under 35 years old."

The new homes will be distributed across eight key locations, prioritizing areas with high demand. 843 apartments will be built in Madrid capital (in the Valdebebas and Ahijones developments), 756 in Alcobendas, 365 in Arroyomolinos, 332 in Colmenar Viejo, 308 in Móstoles, 303 in Tres Cantos, 295 in Loeches, and 150 in Valdemoro.
To qualify for these homes, applicants must be under 35, use the apartment as their primary residence, and not own any other property. Additionally, the annual rent cannot exceed 35% of the household's net annual income, ensuring affordability. Priority will be given to those registered or working in the municipality where the housing is located for at least three years, fostering local roots.
