The City Council and the Sports Department of Colmenar Viejo have reaffirmed their commitment to improving sports facilities with the total renovation of the twelve padel courts at the Municipal Sports City ‘Juan Antonio Samaranch’.
The work, carried out by the company Mistral, concessionaire of the facilities, involved the installation of new textured artificial turf carpets for high-level competition and the marking of game lines according to the regulations of the Spanish Padel Federation.
This modernization, representing an investment of 90,024 euros (VAT included) by the concessionary company, aims to enhance the playing experience and durability of facilities heavily used by residents.
The Councilor for Sports, Fabiola Cebrián Pérez, highlighted that the new surfaces and official markings not only improve game quality but also help reduce injury risks and address issues arising from intensive use.
Cebrián Pérez added that this initiative is a direct investment in sport, health, and quality of life, promoting regular sports practice, community, and active lifestyles for all ages, in line with the municipal commitment to modernize all sports infrastructure.
The councilor concluded by stating that the renovation reflects the vision of building a Colmenar Viejo that is a sporting benchmark, modern, and sustainable, capable of attracting top-tier talent and competitions.
