The Colmenar Viejo City Council has announced the opening of the grazing season in the Dehesa de Navalvillar, allowing access for cattle, horses, and donkeys from May 5 until September 22, 2026.

This measure, formalized by a mayoral decree, aims to maintain the traditional management of the environment and support local livestock farming. The controlled use of these pastures not only benefits the primary sector but also contributes to the conservation of the ecosystem and biodiversity of this important environmental area in the municipality.
Interested farmers can use the dehesa during the established period, with an additional five-day grace period after the closing date to remove their animals. Non-compliance with these conditions, including introducing livestock outside authorized dates, may result in penalties.
Access to the pastures requires payment of a fee per animal: 20.30 euros for cattle and 45.70 euros for horses or donkeys. Calves still suckling up to eight months old, as well as purebred breeding males, are exempt from payment, provided their purity is accredited with the corresponding genealogical documentation.
To formalize access, farmers must obtain an entry slip from the Rural Guard and, after making payment, submit the required documentation to the municipal registry or via the Electronic Office. This procedure ensures orderly and regulated access to the natural area throughout the grazing season.
