On May 9th, Colmenar Viejo will host a family leisure day organized by the Youth Center, featuring activities such as hot air balloons, inflatables, and a popular paella, designed for all ages.

The town of Colmenar Viejo is preparing for one of the most comprehensive leisure days of the year on Saturday, May 9th, in celebration of Family Day. The Youth Center has designed an uninterrupted program from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, taking place in two open-air spaces: La Alameda and the Las Vegas esplanade. The initiative aims to offer entertainment for children, youth, and adults, with proposals adapted to each age group.

"Family Day gives us the opportunity to spend time together and enjoy activities designed for all ages, promoting participation through leisure proposals."

Among the most prominent attractions is the chance to ride one of two tethered hot air balloons, offering panoramic views of the surroundings. This experience will be available during two time slots: from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. To participate, interested individuals must collect a pass beforehand at the Youth Center, as places are limited.
Children will enjoy a wide variety of activities between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM, including face painting, balloon twisting, an inflatable zone, a kart circuit, an American track, and foosball tables. There will also be giant games such as Twister, tic-tac-toe, hopscotch, and the game of the goose. Additionally, two professional cartoonists will be present throughout the day to create live caricatures from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The day will include a popular paella, a moment for families to gather and socialize. As evening approaches, the celebration will move to El Mirador Park, where at 8:00 PM, the company Mundo Costrini will present their clown show Les frikis, as part of the ‘Saltimbanqui’ Street Theater Festival. This show of physical humor and absurd situations is suitable for all ages.
Throughout the day, an information point will distribute merchandise, booklets, and gifts. Individuals with specific needs requiring adaptations for any programmed activities can request them at least 72 hours in advance.
