The Department of Seniors of the Colmenar Viejo City Council has organized an initiative to liven up the summer for the elderly. This year, the summer dance program expands with two distinct venues to cater to attendees' preferences.
On one hand, the traditional sessions specifically for seniors will continue. These will be held on Saturdays, July 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th, at the Centro Social El Vivero, located at Avenida de los Remedios, 22. Activities will commence promptly at 8:30 PM.
As a new addition, evenings open to seniors and their families are being introduced. These new events will take place on Fridays, July 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th, at the Music Kiosk on the Explanada of the Plaza de Toros. The schedule for these family-oriented sessions will be longer, running from 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
The four Friday evening events will feature live musical performances to entertain the night. The Trío Nueva Era will provide the music on July 3rd and 10th, while the Trío Péndulo will perform on the sessions scheduled for July 17th and 24th. The City Council emphasizes that these gatherings aim to foster interaction between different generations through music and dance.
The summer dance program will conclude on Saturday, July 25th, with the celebration of Fiesta de los Abuelos (Grandparents' Day), to be held at the Centro Social El Vivero. This special event will include recognitions for prominent seniors in the municipality, a musical performance, and a catering service for all attendees.
