Colmenar Viejo is gearing up for a weekend packed with cultural and festive activities for all ages, featuring the San Isidro pilgrimage, a theater festival, and a magic and comedy show.

The festivities in honor of San Isidro continue in Colmenar Viejo with a program combining religious and popular events. Friday featured a mass at the Basílica de la Asunción de Nuestra Señora, followed by a procession through various town streets. The day concluded with a tasting of rosquillas and sweet wine.
On Sunday, the celebration moves to the Explanada de la Ermita de Santa Ana Extramuros. After a mass at 12:30 PM, the bar-cafeteria will open, and at 2:45 PM, a paella tasting will be offered. The event will include raffles of typical local products, making it a perfect family gathering.
The Auditorio de Colmenar Viejo will host the magic and comedy show Acojonado this Saturday, starring comedian Miguel Miguel. The performance, starting at 8:00 PM, will review his life experiences with a humorous approach and last approximately 90 minutes. Tickets are priced at 12 euros for the stalls and 9 euros for the gallery.
The Parque El Mirador will host the opening of the twenty-sixth edition of the ‘Saltimbanqui’ Street Theater Festival, running until June 6th. The opening act will be by the company Circo Psikario with their clown show ¡Qué disparate!, a free performance suitable for all audiences.
For those seeking quieter plans, the Centro Cultural Pablo Ruiz Picasso presents two exhibitions: the ‘X Muestra de Libros de Artista’, dedicated to the centenary of Antoni Gaudí and Claude Monet, and ‘Lugares’, featuring landscapes and compositions in cubist and expressionist styles.
In sports, the Pabellón A of CDM Lorenzo Rico will host the XXVIII ’12 Hours of Volleyball’ Tournament throughout the weekend. On Sunday, the CDM Juan Antonio Samaranch will be the venue for the First Regional Amateur Division match between AD Colmenar Viejo and Rayo Ciudad Alcobendas CF.
Municipal libraries complement the agenda with free workshops. The Biblioteca Miguel de Cervantes offered dramatized reading and illustration workshops on Friday. Additionally, the town's libraries are hosting the exhibitions ‘Lo salvaje’ and ‘Las bibliotecas recomiendan: libros para… ¡nada!’.
