The Santo Domingo Shopping Center in Algete will host a special event titled ‘Future Heroes’ on Saturday, June 13th. The center's main parking lot will become an interactive stage where youngsters can learn about safety and emergencies from professionals.
The activity, organized in collaboration with the Security Department of the Algete City Council, will take place from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM and admission is completely free, with no prior registration required. It is designed for families from the municipality and surrounding areas.
Six organizations will actively participate: the Local Police of Algete, Civil Protection of Algete, the Civil Guard, the Fire Department of the Community of Madrid, the Red Cross, and the Forest Agents. Each will have its own dedicated area for children to interact with professionals and learn about their vehicles and equipment.
The central element will be the ‘Future Hero Passport’, a booklet where children will collect stamps upon completing challenges and workshops. Those who finish the passport will receive a future hero ID card as a souvenir, encouraging participation in all activities.
Among the scheduled activities, the Local Police will organize a road safety circuit. The Red Cross and Civil Protection will conduct workshops on when and how to call 112. There will also be ‘Security Detectives’ activities and guided tours of the emergency vehicles.
The event will feature a demonstration by the Canine Unit of the Local Police of Algete and a joint rescue simulation involving several agencies, showcasing coordination in emergency situations.
The event is primarily aimed at children aged 3 to 12 years, but is open to all ages. Special emphasis has been placed on outreach to local schools and residents, making it a notable weekend family activity.
