The Algete City Council has launched an initiative to support families with babies born in 2026, distributing 75 welcome baskets containing essential products for the first months of life, aiming to alleviate initial expenses and celebrate the arrival of new residents.

This measure, promoted by the municipality of Algete, combines emotional support with practical aid, acknowledging the transformative impact of a new family member. The baskets are intended for children born or to be born throughout this year, 2026.
The welcome baskets are not merely ornamental; they have been specifically designed to be highly useful in parents' daily lives. Each includes an adjustable basket for baby strollers, ideal for organizing outings, and various essential hygiene and personal care products for the early stages of infant development.
To be eligible for one of these baskets, families must meet certain requirements. The initiative is exclusively for babies born from January 1, 2026, onwards. Additionally, one parent must have been registered in Algete for a minimum of three years, a criterion that aims to reward the stability and permanence of citizens in the locality.
The application process has been simplified, offering two methods: online, via the form available on the Algete City Council's electronic headquarters, or in person, at the General Registry. The application period began on April 15, 2026, so interested parties are advised not to delay the process.
It is important to note that the availability of these baskets is limited. A total of 75 units have been prepared, which will be allocated strictly on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies run out. Once the first 75 applications that meet all requirements are received and validated, the distribution quota will close. The exact dates for the physical delivery of the baskets will be announced to beneficiaries soon.
