The reception facility, set up in the Amaya Valdemoro pavilion, provides accommodation, food, and healthcare to the evacuated families. The new measure aims to alleviate the uncertainty faced by those affected regarding the status of their homes in the southwestern region of the Community of Madrid.
In addition to emotional support, teams deployed by the regional administration provide guidance on the procedures required to apply for public aid. The operation is supported by the constant presence of Civil Protection and the Local Police, ensuring security and addressing urgent medical needs, such as medication management and dialysis.
The shelter has also adapted its services to the diversity of the evacuees, including the distribution of halal food for a group of 30 people and the housing of pets. For the 17 minors staying at the facility, recreational activities including bouncy castles have been organized to help them cope with the situation.
