The Alcobendas City Council, through Imagina, has organized a new youth expedition to hike the French Way of St. James in July 2026, offering a complete experience with transport, accommodation, and a support vehicle for young people aged 18 to 30.

This initiative aims to promote sports, coexistence, and a spirit of self-improvement among young people. This year's edition will focus on the French Way, one of the most emblematic and culturally rich routes on the peninsula. It is presented as an opportunity to disconnect from daily routines and face a physical and personal challenge in a privileged natural environment.
The activity, scheduled from July 5 to 11, 2026, will include five walking stages, designed to be challenging yet accessible for individuals with normal physical condition. The starting point will be Sarria, a strategic location for obtaining the Compostela.
Throughout the journey, participants will pass through charming and traditional Galician towns such as Puertomarín, Palas de Rey, Arzúa, and Pedrouzo, before reaching their final destination at the Plaza del Obradoiro, in front of the imposing Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

"The initiative is not just a leisure activity, but is conceived as a tool for personal growth."

The program offers tiered pricing: 300 euros for residents of Alcobendas, 360 euros for those who work in the municipality, and 600 euros for other interested individuals. These fees cover most logistical and subsistence expenses.
The package includes round-trip bus transport from Alcobendas, accommodation in guesthouses, hostels, or shelters, full board (excluding travel days), accompanying guides, civil liability insurance, a support vehicle, the pilgrim's credential, and backpack transport between stages.
Registrations are open and limited to young people aged 18 to 30. The process is online and requires the use of digital identification systems such as Cl@ve, digital certificate, or electronic DNI.
