The Alcobendas City Council has established the first municipal awards to distinguish athletes and teams who have won medals in regional competitions during the 2025/2026 season.

With the aim of giving visibility to sporting achievements that often go unnoticed, the council will for the first time recognize podium finishes in official regional championships. The initiative is open to all disciplines, regardless of their popularity, as long as a gold, silver, or bronze medal has been won in the highest regional category of the 2025/2026 season.
Both individual athletes and teams and clubs linked to Alcobendas can apply for these awards. It is not necessary to be a professional; competing at the highest regional level and achieving recognition is sufficient. Registration will be done through the City Council's electronic headquarters, requiring the submission of a detailed sports record, results, rankings, and graphic material to support the merits.
The deadline for submitting candidacies is June 10th. Clubs and athletes have an opportunity to highlight their successes. The awards ceremony will take place on June 24th at the Teatro Auditorio Ciudad de Alcobendas, an event designed to give the recognition that local athletes deserve.
