This development, considered the largest in Alcobendas' history, has begun its external perimeter fencing and initial ground conditioning work. The project spans over 2.17 million square meters, bordering the municipality of Madrid, marking a significant step in the town's urban expansion.
The mayor of Alcobendas, Rocío García Alcántara, along with the president of the Compensation Board, Rafael Olabarri, and the councilor for Urban Planning, Jesús Montero, presented the project's progress. Perimeter fencing of the entire area commenced this week, and land clearing and preparation will follow in the coming weeks, preceding civil works.
Municipal planning anticipates that the Redistribution and Urbanization Projects will be approved before the end of the year. If deadlines are met, earthworks are expected to begin in 2027, along with the commercialization of the first homes.
The Los Carriles-Valgrande area not only includes various types of housing, such as apartments and single-family homes, for both sale and rent, but is also estimated to attract nearly 25,800 new residents to Alcobendas. Furthermore, the project will allocate over 55,000 square meters for tertiary and commercial use, and almost 600,000 square meters for green areas.
The City Council emphasizes that this initiative will create approximately 4,000 jobs during the construction phase and over 1,000 jobs once the development is completed, opening new housing access opportunities, especially for young people, families, and workers in the municipality.
