The town of Alcobendas is preparing to host the XXIX Seafood Fair, an event that promises to transport visitors to the Galician estuaries without leaving the Community of Madrid. From April 15 to May 3, Andalucía Park will be the setting for this gastronomic and cultural celebration, where attendees can enjoy fresh seafood brought directly from O Grove.
This twenty-ninth edition solidifies its position as an unmissable event for food lovers, offering an authentic immersion into Galician folklore and tradition. The organization, led by the Xuntanza de Galegos and with technical collaboration from Demar Degustación, guarantees the freshness and quality of the products, carefully selected in the renowned fishing town of O Grove.
Her participation adds value to the event, not only due to her professional career but also her ability to connect with the public and convey the importance of keeping cultural traditions alive.
Although the fair opens to the public on April 15, the official inauguration will take place on Thursday, April 16, at 8:00 PM, with the presence of local and regional authorities. This year's opening speech will be delivered by journalist María Cheda, who will share her perspective on the importance of preserving cultural traditions.
The fair's schedule has been designed to accommodate all audiences. From Monday to Saturday, the venue will be open from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM. On Sundays, hours are limited to lunchtime, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Access to the venue is free, allowing anyone to enjoy the atmosphere, bagpipe music, and traditional dances that complement the culinary offerings.
The fair will feature a wide variety of seafood, from spider crabs and velvet crabs to small crabs, shrimp, and, of course, the traditional Galician-style octopus. The longevity of this event, celebrating its 29th edition, underscores its success and its fundamental role in the social life of Alcobendas, strengthening community ties and enriching the municipality's cultural offerings.
