A driver of a vehicle for hire (VTC) was arrested in Madrid by the Municipal Police after nearly nine kilograms of hashish and over 600 euros in cash were discovered in his car.

The arrest took place in the Fuencarral-El Pardo district, after municipal agents observed the vehicle illegally parked on Sarriá Street, obstructing traffic. The incident occurred around 10:00 PM on April 16.
After some time passed without the driver moving the car, officers proceeded to identify him. During the intervention, they noticed a strong smell of drugs emanating from inside the vehicle, prompting a thorough search.
In the passenger seat area, Madrid Municipal Police found several supermarket bags containing a total of 90 individual packages of hashish, wrapped in clear film and bearing a printed logo. The total weight of the narcotic substance amounted to 8.8 kilograms.
In addition to the drugs, officers found a bag with just over 600 euros in cash. For these actions, the driver, a 31-year-old male, was arrested for a suspected crime against public health. The vehicle was towed away by order of the police authorities.
