The Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) participated last Saturday, October 17, in the University Cycling Route, which covered the university campuses in the municipality of Pozuelo, promoting healthy lifestyle habits and community.

The route, organized by the City Council of Pozuelo, started from the Francisco de Vitoria University and concluded at the Somosaguas campus of UCM, after passing through the facilities of UNED, UNIR, and Villanueva. The objective was to enjoy sports and create a meeting space for students, faculty, and administrative and service staff.
Juncal González, the rector's delegate for University Campuses, highlighted the high participation and the commitment of the organizing teams, collaborators, and entities such as Metro Ligero Oeste, the City Council, the Local Police, and Civil Protection of Pozuelo. "Their involvement, enthusiasm, and commitment have been fundamental in making this route an opportunity for experiences, enjoying the environment, and strengthening the sense of university community," she stated.
The activity also served to highlight the bicycle as a sustainable mobility alternative and how sport can unite people and institutions, fostering collaboration and the development of shared activities that contribute to collective well-being.
Among the attendees from UCM were the university ombudsman, David Carabantes Alarcón, and the vice-rector for Culture, Sport, and University Extension, Isabel García Fernández. Representing the City Council of Pozuelo were Almudena Ruiz Escudero, third deputy mayor, and María del Carmen Salas Pérez, councilor for Mobility.
