The event featured health promotion and active aging activities, including comprehensive geriatric assessments, blood pressure, glucose, and nutrition checks, as well as screenings for frailty, memory, and mood. Professionals from Geriatrics, Nursing, and Social Work also provided information and advice on prevention and healthy habits, while Patient Care offered details on the virtual health card.
Physical activity also played a key role with the 'Get Fit' session, led by the hospital's physiotherapists. One of the most emotional moments was the testimony of José Carlos, a patient who shared his recovery experience after suffering a severe stroke.
“"Aging is a privilege, never a burden"
The day concluded with a performance by the Choir of the Central Cruz Roja Hospital, following the reading of the Decalogue of Good Treatment for Older Persons and the 'Stop Ageism' message. The managing director, Yolanda Díaz López, reaffirmed the hospital's commitment to the dignity, autonomy, and respect for older adults, highlighting its model as an Age-Friendly Hospital.
