The aspiring volunteers will receive a free course of 110 academic hours, both theoretical and practical, at the Institute for Integral Training in Security and Emergencies (IFISE) until December. This instruction aims to enhance the prevention and response capabilities of municipalities in the face of incidents.
The course content includes first aid, traffic regulation, emergency vehicle driving, communications, fire support, multi-victim incidents, legislation, psychosocial support, and logistics. The instructors are experts from institutions such as the Community of Madrid Firefighters, Madrid 112 Emergency Center, SUMMA 112, SAMUR-Civil Protection, and local police forces.
Additionally, approximately 200 more volunteers will soon join after completing their practical training period. These volunteers play a crucial role in protecting people and property during emergencies and catastrophes, whether natural or human-induced.
The 13 new group leaders will undergo more advanced training lasting 85 hours, focusing on state, regional, and local legislation, command structures, intervention procedures, self-protection, logistics, and emergency communication. The faculty for this course comprises representatives from the Directorate General of Civil Protection, firefighters, psychologists, and members of the Madrid 112 Security and Emergencies Agency (ASEM 112).
