The Madrid City Council has completed a significant urban regeneration project in the Moscardó Firefighters' Colony, located in the Usera district, with an investment exceeding 409,000 euros to enhance accessibility, traffic flow, and tree planting.

The works, part of the Regenera Plan, have transformed 2,709 square meters across Juan Español, Media, and José Anespere streets. This intervention has allowed for wider sidewalks, accessible pedestrian routes, and new green spaces, addressing previous issues of poor accessibility and lack of vegetation.
The area, which was previously heavily impacted by traffic, now offers a more pedestrian-friendly environment. Tree planting and green areas have been reinforced, contributing to better climate comfort and creating more shaded spaces for residents.
In addition to aesthetic and accessibility improvements, the project has reorganized traffic to prioritize pedestrian safety. On Media street, the speed limit has been reduced to 20 kilometers per hour, and circulation is restricted to residents and services. Three new lighting points have also been installed to enhance illumination and safety.

"The Regenera Plan allows us to act in inter-block spaces that for decades had been outside public intervention due to their legal and urban complexity. This recovery improves mobility, the aesthetics of the neighborhood, and the quality of life for residents."
