The Madrid City Council has initiated a new phase of the Cambia 360 Aid, with an initial budget of 9.7 million euros, to boost the purchase of sustainable vehicles, the renovation of climate control systems, and the installation of electric charging infrastructure.

As of April 20, residents of Madrid can apply for subsidies for the purchase of private vehicles, the improvement of thermal installations, and the creation of electric charging points. These initiatives are part of the Cambia 360 Aid program, implemented by the Madrid City Council since 2020, aiming to promote sustainable mobility and energy efficiency, thereby contributing to the reduction of polluting emissions.
The Department of Urban Planning, Environment, and Mobility maintains all seven aid lines, with an initial allocation of 9.7 million euros, which could be extended up to 23.3 million. In addition to the open calls, the deadline for subsidies aimed at renewing Urban Goods Distribution (DUM) vehicles and acquiring micromobility vehicles began on April 15. Soon, on May 1, aid for the taxi sector will open, and on May 18, those for bus scrapping.
For the purchase of private vehicles, a maximum credit of 14 million euros has been allocated, with an initial 4.2 million and a possible extension of 9.8 million. This year, aid for C-label vehicles has been eliminated. ZERO emission vehicles can receive 4,000 euros, and ECO vehicles, 2,000 euros. Additionally, an extra 1,500 euros can be added for scrapping an A-label vehicle or, for the first time, a B-label vehicle. The application period is from April 20 to May 20.
Regarding energy efficiency, up to 2.7 million euros are allocated for boiler renovation, a measure that seeks to replace the most polluting systems, especially after the prohibition of coal boilers in Madrid since January 2022. Aid can reach up to 5,000 euros per home in homeowner communities for hybrid and renewable climate control systems, and up to 35% of the cost for tertiary use. The application period is from April 20 to November 13.
Subsidies for electric charging infrastructure, with a budget of up to two million euros, are divided into two categories: parking for residents, which can cover up to 90% of the eligible cost (with a limit of 150,000 euros), and private residential parking, with funding up to 65% of the cost (limit of 60,000 euros). These aids will be available from April 20 to May 20.

"The Cambia 360 Aid has become an essential tool for the Madrid City Council, encouraging citizens to lead the transition towards sustainability in multiple areas."

Since its implementation in 2020, the program has contributed to compliance with the European air quality directive for the fourth consecutive year and aims to further reduce nitrogen dioxide levels by 2026. In total, the City Council has allocated 140.8 million euros to these subsidies since its inception.
