The Community of Madrid gathered 1,400 runners this Sunday for the XXXII edition of the Firefighter Memorial Race, an event honoring regional Fire Department professionals who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

The popular 7.5-kilometer race started and finished at the Arganda del Rey Fire Station. The Minister of Environment, Agriculture, and Interior, Carlos Novillo, participated in the event.
In addition to the general public category, a special competition was held where firefighters competed in their full intervention uniforms. Before the start, participants observed a minute of silence to commemorate fallen colleagues.
Following the trophy ceremony, other activities took place, including demonstrations of traffic accident and high-altitude rescue, rowing contests, and an Ultimate FireFighter challenge, a sports practice that encompasses tasks typical of these public servants' work.
