The Community of Madrid has approved extending the validity of educational concert agreements for an additional four years, which will benefit 350,000 students and extend public funding for over 550 schools.

The Governing Council has given the green light to modify the decree regulating these agreements, increasing their duration from 10 to 14 years. This change maintains the funding model that allows families to choose these types of schools.
With this decision, the Ministry of Education, Science, and Universities sets the renewal of these concert agreements for 2031, coinciding with the full implementation of the reduction in the number of students per classroom planned by the regional government.
The decree establishes the period during which public funding for these schools will be maintained, both for their owners and for the families who have chosen to enroll their children there. It also allows for the adjustment of the duration of agreements covering the first cycle of Early Childhood Education and Vocational Training in private centers under the concert system to 14 years.
