The Community of Madrid will allocate more than 36 million euros until 2030 to finance the hiring of 200 young predoctoral researchers, thereby supporting the start of their scientific careers.

The Governing Council has approved the economic endowment for this program, which aims to facilitate the completion of doctoral theses and the attainment of the International Doctorate mention. The grants will cover a total of 200 contracts lasting four years.
The gross annual salary for these researchers will be 30,000 euros for the first three years, increasing to 35,000 euros in the fourth year upon obtaining their doctorate. These amounts position the program among the most competitive in Spain in terms of remuneration.
The subsidies will also cover the full costs of Social Security and the end-of-contract severance pay, amounting to 40,500 euros annually for the first three years and 47,250 euros in the final year. Additionally, a budget of 12,000 euros will be provided for stays abroad and to cover tuition fees.
The call for applications will be published in November in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM), with a one-month period for submitting applications. Eligible to apply for these grants are public and private universities in the region, the IMDEA foundations, public research organizations, entities for biomedical research at regional hospitals, health institutions linked or contracted with the National Health System, and other non-profit entities whose primary activity is R&D&I.
