A team from SUMMA 112 of the Community of Madrid has secured third place in the Eurosim Cup competition, held in Paris during the European Congress of Emergency Medicine.
The Emergency and Health Emergencies Service of the Community of Madrid, SUMMA 112, represented Spain at the European Congress of Emergency Medicine (EUSEM 2026) in Paris, achieving third place in the clinical simulation competition known as the Eurosim Cup. The team from Ukraine took first place, followed by the team from the United Kingdom.
The Madrid team was composed of Emergency Doctor Miriam Uzuriaga, Nurse Raquel Pérez, and Emergency Health Technicians Felipe Lordén and Luis de Mera. They competed representing Spain's emergency health services.
The competition, held entirely in English last week, combined theoretical and practical tests in hospital, pre-hospital, and virtual scenarios. Teams faced diverse and complex clinical cases, requiring decision-making and coordination under pressure in elimination rounds. The SUMMA 112 team initially competed against teams from India and Taiwan.
