Predoctoral researchers from ICMAT, including Andrés Laín, Mencía Reborido, and José Antonio Fuentes, presented the mathematics and physical laws behind phenomena related to fluids. The activity was part of the science fair 'CSIC calls you tonight', organized by various centers and institutes of the CSIC.
The event, which aimed to bring science closer to society, included workshops, demonstrations, podcasts, and other activities. In the morning, activities were aimed at primary and secondary school students, who could participate in an escape room and attend the live recording of the CSIC podcast ‘Ciencia para Leer’. Carmen Guerrero, a member of the Deputy Vice Presidency for Scientific Culture and Citizen Science of the CSIC, participated in this recording, which featured the book 'Princesas, abejas y matemáticas' by David Martín de Diego, a scientific researcher at CSIC's ICMAT.
Ágata Timón, from the Mathematical Culture Unit of ICMAT, also collaborated by reading passages from the aforementioned book. The recording of the podcast episode is available online.
