The National Police have arrested two individuals in Madrid for their involvement in an attempted international shipment of narcotics, cleverly camouflaged inside a toy.

The police operation culminated in the seizure of 5,000 MDMA pills and nearly 800 grams of a powdery substance, which turned out to be a mixture of ketamine and MDMA. The estimated value of this merchandise on the illicit market amounts to 80,000 euros.
Investigations began on August 22, 2025, when agents became aware of a suspicious package being held at a parcel delivery company. Upon inspecting the shipment, it was discovered that a large toy contained, among its pieces, orange pills and bags with the pink powdery substance.

"The sender refused to show the purchase invoice and to allow inspection of the merchandise, claiming it contained collectible items that could be damaged."

One of the detainees was responsible for purchasing the toy at a shopping center in Madrid, while the other took the package to the parcel company. The latter displayed nervous behavior throughout the shipping process, used false sender details, and paid in cash to avoid being traced.
The investigation also revealed the existence of a third individual, considered the mastermind behind the scheme, who commissioned the preparation and shipment of the drugs. This individual was already in prison due to another investigation related to large-scale drug trafficking. The arrests of the two implicated individuals occurred on March 18, following searches of their homes, and both have been remanded in custody.
