Between January and August 2026, the two companies operating in the municipality, Voltio and WiBLE, jointly recorded 10,665 trip start or end operations. This figure represents 2,429 more operations than the 8,236 registered in the same period of 2025, demonstrating the consolidation of shared cars as a mobility alternative for residents.
The implementation of carsharing in Boadilla began in September 2024, promoted by the City Council with the aim of diversifying transport options. Initially conceived as a pilot experience, the service has maintained a notable reception from users, with Voltio operating since September 2024 and WiBLE joining weeks later.
Since its launch, shared cars have been positioned as a complementary solution for specific journeys, including trips to Madrid and other surrounding municipalities, as well as airport transfers, a use identified as recurrent since the first year.
The positive evolution this year underscores the continuity in the use of a service that offers flexibility, allowing users to have a vehicle only when needed, without the necessity of owning a car.
In the framework of the European Mobility Week, the City Council reaffirms the importance of having diverse mobility alternatives and commits to continue expanding and complementing residents' mobility options, adapting them to their different needs.
