Worker dies in workplace accident at Madrid's Movistar Arena

A worker, approximately 50 years old, died this Wednesday after falling 30 meters inside Madrid's Movistar Arena, located in Plaza Felipe II.

An operator, around 50 years old, lost his life this Wednesday in a tragic workplace accident that occurred inside the Movistar Arena. The incident took place around 2:35 PM when the man was performing work on the venue's roof and fell from a height of about 30 meters, landing on the central court.
Emergency services from SUMMA 112, along with the Madrid Fire Department, quickly responded to the scene. Despite efforts and cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers that lasted 20 minutes, paramedics confirmed the worker's death.
The Municipal Police has launched an investigation to determine the exact causes of the accident. As a consequence of the incident, three of the deceased's colleagues required attention from a SUMMA 112 psychologist due to anxiety attacks.
