A VOX councilor in the Madrid City Council has reaffirmed her position as the legitimate spokesperson for the party in Cibeles, accusing the mayor's team of "caciquismo" for not executing the departure of expelled council members.

The councilor stated that the current legal situation requires the three expelled VOX council members to no longer be part of the municipal group. According to her interpretation, the City Council should have applied Article 73.3 of the Local Regime Bases Law to reclassify them as non-attached councilors.
She also criticized the General Secretariat of the Plenary for preparing a report to determine the status of the expelled councilors. The municipal body has requested documentation from VOX to confirm the expulsions and is also analyzing a request for precautionary measures filed in the ordinary courts.

"Maintaining the expelled councilors within the municipal group means ignoring a resolution that should already be executive."

The councilor insisted that VOX advocates for compliance with the law and warned that the organization will assess the situation created in the Madrid City Council to act accordingly. She accused the mayor of acting "like a strongman" and disregarding laws and citizens' rights.
The Cibeles Plenary session is taking place amidst an internal party rift. The councilor and another expelled council member will present separate initiatives on the waste fee, an image that highlights the ongoing struggle for VOX's representation in the City Council.
