The incident occurred when a woman in advanced pregnancy began labor imminently while traveling. Unable to reach a hospital, the vehicle stopped, and emergency services were immediately notified.
The first to arrive were agents from the Madrid Municipal Police, who provided initial support to the mother. Minutes later, paramedics from SAMUR-Protección Civil took over, assisting the delivery on-site, clamping the umbilical cord, and providing initial neonatal care.
“"Both the baby and the mother are in perfect health."
This birth marks the second delivery that SAMUR-Protección Civil teams have attended during the same shift, an unusual coincidence in the city's emergency rotations. After stabilizing both the mother and the newborn, they were transported by an advanced life support ambulance to the Gregorio Marañón University Hospital.
The intervention proceeded normally despite the complexity of the location, making the little one the protagonist of an atypical day for Madrid's public services.
