Samur-Protección Civil teams responded to the woman's home on Avenida de las Águilas, in the Latina district, around 11:30 AM, after being notified that she was experiencing contractions every three minutes. Given the imminent birth, an urgent transfer to Hospital 12 de Octubre in a mobile ICU ambulance was arranged.
The birth occurred unexpectedly as the mother was exiting the emergency vehicle, right at the entrance to the hospital's emergency department. The newborn, a boy named Adriano, is in perfect health, as is his mother, according to reports from Emergencias Madrid.
“"The rapid progression of labor meant that the delivery took place practically at the hospital's doors, after the woman had been stabilized and monitored during the journey."
Following the birth, Samur-Protección Civil personnel facilitated skin-to-skin contact between the mother and baby, a recommended practice to foster early bonding and ensure the newborn's stability in the first minutes of life. Subsequently, both were admitted to Hospital 12 de Octubre for necessary medical care.
