Two individuals were arrested on May 7 at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport after being intercepted with approximately 14 kilograms of cocaine in their luggage.

The intervention was triggered by an alert from French customs authorities, who reported on two passengers originating from Lima with a stopover in Paris, with final destination Madrid.
French authorities detected a substance in the checked luggage which, after being tested with a drug test, returned a positive result for cocaine. With this information, a joint operation was established between agents of Customs Surveillance and the Civil Guard, integrated into the Analysis and Risk Unit (UAR), to identify and apprehend the suspects.
The operation, which was carried out under a judicially authorized controlled delivery, concluded with the seizure of over 14 kilograms of the narcotic substance and the presentation of the two detainees to the competent judicial authority.

The joint operation highlights the high level of coordination between French and Spanish customs authorities, as well as the effective cooperation between Customs Surveillance and the Civil Guard.
