Agents of the Civil Guard, in collaboration with authorities from the Community of Madrid and the Municipal Police, have arrested three individuals in Cañada Real for an attempted fraudulent sale of 119 lambs.

The detainees, including the owner of the animals, the transporter, and the receiver, are under investigation for alleged document forgery. They intended to use false certificates to justify the transaction, which was destined for a slaughterhouse in Zaragoza, where the lambs never arrived.
The investigation began in early May when the Madrid Municipal Police observed the unloading of lambs on a plot in Cañada Real. After identifying the transporter and receiver, it was determined that the livestock was to be sold at the traditional lamb festival, held on May 27th.
The Livestock Service of the Regional Government requested support from the Seprona unit of the Civil Guard. A comprehensive inspection revealed that the lambs, approximately four months old, lacked identification tags, and the transport from Guadalajara was carried out irregularly with false documentation.
Due to the lack of sanitary guarantees, the Community of Madrid ordered the sacrifice of the 119 seized lambs to prevent the spread of contagious diseases.
