The new OCAC, expanding from 26 to 31 professionals, will be located at Carretas Street, 4, relocating from its current site at Carrera de San Jerónimo, 13. This center will provide services both by appointment and walk-in, extending its hours to include Saturday mornings.
The Minister of Presidency, Justice, and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, visited the construction site of these facilities, which represent a regional investment of two million euros. The office is expected to be operational in the last quarter of 2026.
“"It will be practically 700 square meters, 400 for direct citizen service, another 200 for the registration of domestic partnerships, and another 100 square meters for a multipurpose area for different campaigns or training activities. We are widening the windows and doors of access from the Administration to citizens."
The new center will feature 13 service desks and a multidisciplinary team. Available services will include information and guidance (in-person and via video call), submission of applications, validation of electronic certificates, and access to benefits such as the Virtual Health Card or the Youth Card.
Opening hours will be Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with reduced morning hours during August. The 500-square-meter space will include a waiting room, informational screens, and a multifunctional room, along with technological tools such as self-service kiosks and digital queue management systems to streamline service.
A priority service area will be set up for individuals over 65 and people with disabilities, offering services like sign language interpreters and support systems for the deafblind. A 100-square-meter multipurpose space will also be available for training activities and meetings, equipped with advanced audiovisual technology. The office will be a brain-protected and cardioprotected environment, with staff trained in symptom detection and emergency protocols for cases like strokes or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and a defibrillator installation.
The new headquarters will also house the Registry of Domestic Partnerships in a reserved mezzanine area, centralizing various administrative services. Since its creation in 2002, this registry has recorded 73,000 couples. Demand at the current office on Carrera de San Jerónimo has grown significantly, serving over 55,700 people in 2025 alone, a 19% increase from the previous year.
