The seventh edition of the festival reaffirms its commitment to innovation and creativity, extending its artistic proposals throughout the Community of Madrid. The Performing Arts in Municipalities cycle will feature companies such as La Troupe Malabó with Eirené in Torrelaguna, Cal y Canto with The Wind Garden in Pedrezuela, and Cía La Buffa with Ni fú ni fá in Olmeda de las Fuentes on Friday, July 31.
During the weekend of August 1 and 2, the program will continue in municipalities such as Hoyo de Manzanares, Velilla de San Antonio, Zarzalejo, Lozoya, Patones, Canencia, Valdaracete, Serranillos del Valle, and Puentes Viejas, with performances for all audiences designed to transform public spaces.
Meanwhile, the Summer Cinema cycle will screen titles such as Jurassic World: Dominion, Mufasa: The Lion King, Lilo & Stitch, and Paddington in Peru in various locations, combining family films, major releases, and Spanish productions.
The Classics in Summer cycle will bring classical music to Madrid municipalities. Highlights include performances by Concierto Poético, Ernesto Schmied & Carlos Wernicke, the duo Pablo Zapico and Daniel Zapico, and the collective Arco Vivo with their program on the evolution of the cello.
The Sierra Norte Regional Center for Humanities joins with open-air cinema and the show Obertura (Allegro ma non demasiatto) by the company 3 NOTAS. In the capital, Summers in the Park at Parque de Santander will offer free access performances until August 29, including a show by Circo Psikario.
The Picasso Museum-Eugenio Arias Collection in Buitrago del Lozoya is organizing summer workshops for families, such as Picasso backstage: Theater, ballet, and circus. The Sala Alcalá 31 presents Modern Mythologies: Ouka Leele & Co, reviewing Madrid's art scene of the eighties.
Other notable exhibitions include A Journey to the Sea of Saltpeter at the Regional Library of Madrid, Madrid Under Construction, 1940-1985 at the El Águila Cultural Complex, and shows at the Lope de Vega House Museum, the Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (CA2M) Museum, the Archaeological and Paleontological Museum, and the Birthplace Museum of Cervantes.
The exhibition Ana Locking. Nostalgia / Utopia at the Sala Canal de Isabel II will be open until July 31, close in August, and reopen in September.
