The Royal Botanical Garden-CSIC and the National Museum of Anthropology are hosting a summer camp for children, blending nature, literature, and science through games and challenges from June 22 to July 31.

The urban summer camp, titled 'Around the Botanical Garden in 8 Stories', invites participants to explore the Royal Botanical Garden-CSIC and the National Museum of Anthropology (MNA) in an innovative way. The proposal aims for children to become guardians of an enchanted garden and discover the secrets of nature through an imaginary journey based on great stories.
This year, the two institutions have designed a program that intertwines nature with literature, and science with culture. Through challenges, games, and experiments, young explorers will put their senses to the test. The initiative is aimed at children born between January 1, 2015, and December 31, 2020.

"The magic of stories and botany intertwine, proposing a different adventure each day. Therefore, we are looking for explorers eager to imagine, learn, and play so that, guided by classic books like Don Quixote or Around the World in 80 Days, or more current stories like Be a Tree or Violeta's Garden, they discover amazing landscapes, surprising plants, and different cultures."

The main objectives of these camps include learning about the natural and social world, fostering respect for diverse cultures, promoting interest in anthropology and botany, raising awareness about cultural and natural diversity, and emphasizing the importance of sustainability. Activities run from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with reception starting at 8:00 AM and pick-up until 3:00 PM.
The camp offers two different programs on alternating weeks: 'In a Place in the Botanical Garden…' (weeks of June 22-26, July 6-10, and July 20-24) and 'Stories, Myths, and Histories' (weeks of June 29-July 3, July 13-17, and July 27-31). On Wednesdays or Thursdays, depending on age, the entire day takes place at the National Museum of Anthropology.
The price per participant per week is 120 euros, with a reduced fee of 100 euros for children from large families, single-parent families, or children of employees of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), state museums, or members of the Society of Friends of the Royal Botanical Garden (SARJB) and the Association of Friends of the National Museum of Anthropology (SAMNA). Registration opened on Monday, April 27, and information is available on the Royal Botanical Garden website.
