The San Cayetano, San Lorenzo, and La Paloma Festivals 2026 in Lavapiés will present a diverse musical lineup, highlighting Soleá Morente's performance in her neighborhood, alongside other cultural and traditional activities.

The Community of Madrid has unveiled the program for the San Cayetano, San Lorenzo, and La Paloma Festivals 2026, set to take place in the Lavapiés neighborhood from August 4th to 16th. Music will be a central highlight, with the confirmation of Soleá Morente performing on Calle Embajadores, a significant event for the artist and flamenco enthusiasts.
The musical lineup also includes renowned artists such as Miss Cafeína, Celtas Cortos, DePol, and independent groups like Karavana, Rata, and Los Vinagres. Furthermore, Plaza de la Paja will host a tribute to Joaquín Sabina and performances by bands from the 80s and 90s, featuring Los Refrescos and Modestia Aparte.
The District Councilor for Centro, Carlos Segura, described the festivals as "the most important verbena in Spain" and emphasized the blend of traditions like processions and chotis with modern activities such as the "Bolardo voy, bolardo vengo" decoration contest, now in its ninth edition, and the traditional popular race.
This year's opening speakers will be members of the Samur-Protección Civil, in recognition of their role in caring for attendees at major events. The festivals, running from August 4th to 16th, invite both locals and visitors to participate in the various activities organized by neighborhood collectives.
The program details an extensive schedule of events including exhibitions of giants and big-heads, election of traditional characters, storytelling, puppet shows, magic performances, zarzuela and copla castiza acts, and chotis masterclasses. Free lemonade accompanied by charanga music will be a constant feature on Calle del Oso.
The celebrations also include sporting activities like the XLIV Carrera Popular Trofeo San Lorenzo on July 26th, and chotis and chulapo costume contests. The Virgen de la Paloma will be honored with masses, processions, and floral offerings, including the traditional lowering of the icon by the Madrid Fire Department.
