The Community of Madrid has defended the legality and transparency of contracts signed with the Quirón group, rejecting any irregularities after a UCO report on the regional president's circle.

The Minister of Health, Fátima Matute, assured that the accounts linked to these contracts are "transparent and clean," emphasizing that the agreements date back to 2006 and 2010, years before President Isabel Díaz Ayuso had any connection with Alberto González Amador.
Matute has dissociated the regional administration from the commercial relationships between private companies, stating: "As the Community of Madrid administration, we have nothing to do with third-party relationships and between suppliers." She stressed that the affected public contracts predate Ayuso's tenure as head of the regional government and have not undergone "any type of change," neither modifications nor new contracts since then.

The statements come after the PSOE-M requested an extraordinary plenary session in the Assembly of Madrid to analyze these contracts. The socialist general secretary, Óscar López, has argued that the UCO report shows Quirón group held a privileged position during Ayuso's term, directly linking the case to the president and stating that her partner "has received 4.4 million euros from the Quirón group."

For her part, the spokesperson for Más Madrid in the Assembly, Manuela Bergerot, believes that the UCO's conclusions raise questions about the activity of the investigated companies. She highlighted that Quirón's income to González Amador has increased sevenfold since he became the president's partner, and called for clarification of the economic ties between Ayuso's circle and the company.
The political debate coincides with advances in the judicial investigation into Alberto González Amador. A report from the UCO sent to Investigating Court number 19 of Madrid questions the activity of his company Masterman & Whitaker (formerly Círculobelleza), which allegedly invoiced consultancy services to Quirón Prevención in 2021 without sufficient means, according to the Tax Agency.
The investigation also examines the purchase of Círculobelleza S.L. by Maxwell Cremona S.L. in December 2020 for nearly 500,000 euros, a valuation that raises concerns among agents given the company's limited prior activity. Subsequently, in December 2021, Alberto González Amador acquired all shares of Masterman & Whitaker for 3,300 euros.
The UCO is also analyzing the turnover of Maxwell Cremona, which exceeded 2.3 million euros in 2020, with income potentially derived from a commission for brokering the sale of medical supplies during the pandemic. The report also examines business and personal connections among those involved.
