Businessman Enrique Riquelme addressed the media after the Real Madrid election results were announced, asserting that his candidacy represents a beginning, not an end. Speaking from his campaign headquarters near the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, Riquelme declared, "This is not the end, but the beginning."
Riquelme acknowledged Florentino Pérez's victory, congratulating him and thanking the club's members for rejecting the "main red line" and "the club's sale." He emphasized that his candidacy was "serious, professional, and exciting" and that Real Madrid would not go "20 years without elections" again.
“"And we have managed to stop the club's sale. We will continue moving forward, and the madridismo should know that they will be able to vote every four years."
The candidate also extended an "open hand" to president Florentino Pérez for dialogue and idea exchange, regretting the lack of debate during the election campaign. "I extend my hand to the president to continue the debate we didn't have in the elections and to adopt ideas, so the members are heard," he concluded.
Earlier on election day, Riquelme had called it a "very special day" and highlighted the "historic turnout." Speaking from the Autocine de Madrid, he commented, "Today Real Madrid wins, and our candidacy wins too, regardless of the result."
He further argued that his candidacy had "given a voice to a part of madridismo that was dormant" and that his project "will continue because madridismo has decided so," benefiting "absolutely everyone."
