Registration is now open for the 27th edition of the 'Summer Museum' urban camp, organized by the National Museum of Natural Sciences (MNCN-CSIC). This educational program, designed for children between 5 and 12 years old, will take place during the summer period, specifically from June 22 to September 4.
Registration is done online through the MNCN's ticket sales page and is organized weekly. Participants can choose between two alternating programs: Expedition 'Beyond Earth,' focused on space exploration, and Expedition 'Inspired by Nature: Art and Science at the Museum,' which merges artistic and scientific disciplines.
Operating from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, children will engage in a diverse range of activities including treasure hunts, games, crafts, interactive visits, film screenings, scientific experiments, and excursions. Registration allows for enrollment on a weekly basis.
The Expedition 'Beyond Earth' program will explore the universe, the solar system, planets, the August solar eclipse, and meteorites. It will include a visit to the Planetario de Madrid to enhance the learning experience.
Meanwhile, Expedition 'Inspired by Nature: Art and Science at the Museum' aims to foster imagination and creativity by combining art and science through music, painting, illustration, sculpture, or photography, promoting a playful approach to nature.
“"Each year we work on offering new educational content that stimulates participants' curiosity and creativity and aligns with current trends. The Museum's outreach team is committed to transmitting our passion for science and nature, and they achieve this by ensuring attendees learn in a fun way."
The detailed program for each expedition spans five thematic days, covering topics from space and planets to using art to explain science, the magic of color, sculpting nature, and scientific 'Land Art'.
