The vote, available on Decide Madrid until Monday, May 11, allows residents of Opañel and San Isidro to decide on the implementation of new parking meters. This measure aims to complement existing SER expansions in areas adjacent to streets with already regulated parking.
The most significant extension is planned for Opañel, where 2,760 spaces would be regulated, most designated for residents and only 136 for visitors. This expansion would cover approximately half of the neighborhood, from the area near Comillas to the boundaries marked by Mercedes Arteaga and Portalegre streets, with Oporto Avenue to the south.
In San Isidro, the proposal includes 401 regulated spaces, of which 355 would be for residents and 46 for visitors. This area would encompass several blocks near Marqués de Vadillo, extending to Comuneros de Castilla street, without affecting the areas behind the funeral home.
Prior to this consultation, an informational meeting was held on April 8 at the Fernando Lázaro Carreter cultural center, where alternatives were presented to residents and associations from both neighborhoods. The last SER expansion in Madrid took place in November, incorporating the Zofío neighborhood in Usera into the system.
