The Socialist Municipal Group has installed a large banner with the slogan 'Madrid for the Flag' and rainbow and trans flags on the balcony of the Municipal Groups Building of the Madrid City Council to advocate for the LGTBIQ+ collective's visibility.

The initiative, part of a campaign to extend the message of diversity and inclusion to all districts, was presented by socialist spokesperson Reyes Maroto. Maroto emphasized that Pride transcends traditional spaces and dates, forming part of the daily life of Madrid's neighborhoods, and showed images of various city locations decorated with the collective's colors.
Maroto used the event to criticize the Municipal Government's decision not to display the rainbow flag at the Palacio de Cibeles during Pride celebrations, arguing that its absence reduces visibility for diversity and sends an institutional message that does not represent everyone.

From Más Madrid, spokesperson Rita Maestre reproached the mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, for his lack of participation in LGTBIQ+ Pride events since taking office. Maestre questioned the City Council's institutional campaign for focusing on decorative elements and called for greater involvement from the mayor.
For his part, Vox spokesperson in the City Council, Javier Ortega Smith, defended the neutrality of public buildings regarding symbols of specific groups. He advocated for the Spanish flag as the sole emblem representing all citizens, rejecting the presence of "partisan symbolism" in institutional premises.
